
GUWAHATI: A horrific road accident rocked the Lalmatia area of Guwahati on Wednesday, April 9, leaving two people dead and triggering widespread anger among locals.
The incident occurred when a dumper, bearing the registration number AS25FC, lost control and plowed into several vehicles, causing chaos on the busy stretch.
According to eyewitnesses, the collision was catastrophic, resulting in the immediate deaths of two individuals, one of whom was a woman. Authorities have yet to identify the victims, adding to the distress surrounding the tragedy. The sheer force of the impact damaged multiple vehicles, painting a grim scene at the accident site.
In the aftermath, an enraged crowd gathered at the location, blocking the national highway in protest. The situation quickly escalated as furious residents attempted to set the dumper ablaze, venting their frustration over what they described as reckless driving and inadequate road safety measures. Police and emergency response teams rushed to the spot to manage the tense standoff and prevent further violence.
Similarly, a horrific road accident took place earlier in March in Chandrapur’s Gobardhan area, resulting in the death of one person and leaving two others critically injured.
The deceased, identified as Ratan Das, was traveling with his siblings, Rupali Das and Bipul Das, in an e-rickshaw when the tragedy struck.
