
UDALGURI: In a shocking and distressing turn of events, two minor brothers identified as Gaurab Sarma and Kaushik Sarma were found murdered in Udalguri district, Assam.
The siblings, studying in Class 5 and 6 respectively at Tangla Jatiya Vidyalaya went missing on Friday morning while going to school to sit for exams. The bodies were found the very next day, leaving the Kalaigaon region shocked and in a state of mourning.
The brutal killing has made the residents shed tears, and they cry out for answers and a speedy justice system for the young boys. While the police start an investigation, the circumstance and motives of the murderers are still not known.
Meanwhile, another incident in Guwahati has created further alarm. The body of an unidentified youth was found in the Silarai Nagar area of Bhangagarh on Saturday morning. Wearing a white shirt and black pants, the dead person had foam around the mouth, indicating a scuffle.
Local people are now raising suspicion that foul play may have occurred due to some personal vendetta regarding drug abuse. They also criticized the area's lack of police patrolling in the area, which could be a contributing factor for this crime. Authorities have begun their inquiry and intend to review CCTV footage of the area to discover further details.
Two such tragedies, back-to-back in quick succession, have shocked communities across Assam to its core and has necessitated more effective security and proper probe of such cases to give the victims their due justice.
