Assam: Two ponds inaugurated at Dekorai Guri under Amrit Sarovar scheme

JAMUGURIHAT: Two ponds constructed at Dekorai Guri near Kusumtola under the Amrit Sarovar scheme were formally inaugurated by Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika on Thursday. In this connection, a plantation drive was organized. MLA Hazarika inaugurated the plantation drive and planted saplings of local varieties on the bank of the ponds, along with other dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, he briefly described the Meri Desh Meri Mati scheme undertaken by the Union Government to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He fondly recalled the selfless contributions of the freedom fighters and paid homage to all the martyrs of the freedom struggle.

Palak Kumar Sarma, BDO Sootea development block, conducted the proceedings. The inaugural session was attended by Dr Neha Jadav, SDO Civil, Biswanath-cum-Additional Commissioner of Biswanath subdivision, Diganta Boishya, CEO Biswanath, and others.
