
GUWAHATI: Phani Bhushan Choudhury, Member of Parliament from Barpeta and senior leader of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), has been admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati following respiratory difficulties.
As per reports, Choudhury was taken to the hospital on December 25 with severe breathing problems. Medical staff acted promptly, and necessary interventions stabilized his condition. He is still under close observation by the health team who continue to monitor his condition.
Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah visited the hospital late evening to access Choudhury's health status. The minister was briefed by the attending doctors regarding the AGP leader's condition.
Speaking to reporters, Baruah said, "All essential medical measures are being undertaken, and we remain hopeful for his speedy recovery."
Notably, Phani Bhushan Choudhury, a respected political figure in Assam, has been one of the most prominent leaders of the AGP for several decades. His hospitalization has drawn attention from political circles, with leaders and well-wishers expressing their concern.
The hospital authorities have confirmed that the senior politician is receiving comprehensive care and is on the path to recovery. They emphasized the need for continued monitoring to ensure full recuperation. Updates on Choudhury's health will be provided as his treatment progresses.
