Dhubri: A four-member team from the World Health Organization (WHO), led by Dr. Hilde De Graeve, team lead visited Dhubri district from January 21 to 23 to assess the health services in the district.
During their visit, the team inspected various health institutions, including the Fulakakata Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Jarua Kshudra Primary Health Centre, and TB screening campaign camp at Golakganj Primary Health Centre.
The team also held meetings with the District Health Society, National Health Mission, and district administration officials to discuss the health services in the district.
Dr. Hilde De Graeve expressed satisfaction with the health services in the district, particularly in the remote areas.
However, she stressed on the need for improvement in the transportation system and addressing the shortage of doctors and staff in the health department. The team also praised the services provided by the Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
The WHO team consisted of Dr. Hilde De Graeve, Dr. Dilip Singh Meirembam, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Deka, and Dr. Biraj Kanti Som, along with Birina Bharali, district consultant, WHO, Dhubri.
The district health officials, including Dhubri District Programme Manager of NHM, Arif Ahmed, Media Expert, Moyez Uddin Ahmed, District Quality Assurance Consultance, Hazrat Omar Farooq, District programme manager (AYUSH), Nur Nahar Begum assisted the WHO team during their visit.
