Tangla: World Hypertension Day was observed in Udalguri district on Saturday, along with various other parts of the state. The event was organized under the initiative of the Health Department to raise awareness about hypertension and promote preventive healthcare practices.
As part of the observance, awareness meetings were held at several sub-health centres and tea garden hospitals. Notable among them were Paneri Tea Garden Hospital, Orangajuli Tea Garden, Hatigarh Tea Garden, Badlapara, Suwala, Aterikhat, and Betali Tea Garden. These sessions aimed to educate the public about the causes, prevention, and treatment of hypertension.
In addition, the day was also marked at various Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the district. These included centres in 3 No. Goroimari, Bhogdal, Garuajhar, Shukla, 1 No. Amjuli, Harisinga, Mekelikanda Namjalah, Duliapara, and Shantipur. Health officials and workers used the platform to engage with local communities and spread crucial health information.
To complement the awareness activities, free blood pressure check-up camps were conducted at multiple locations, allowing residents to monitor their health and seek guidance from healthcare professionals.
