GUWAHATI: Assam is about to undergo a major change in the cinema world, courtesy of the GVR Group's ambitious move of investing Rs 2000 crore in an integrated film city.

This pathbreaking venture will be strategically placed in proximity to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport at Guwahati on a massive 500-acre stretch. The project ushered in a new era for the state and brings it to the forefront as a major center for film production in India.

Aimed at beating the size of Hyderabad's Film City, this cutting-edge hub will utilize the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to transform the filmmaking experience. Among its many unique features will be a multi-language studio, allowing for the creation of films in 120 languages, appealing to a huge and diverse market base.

This new way of doing things will not just boost the regional film world but also open the doors to filmmakers from all over India and even outside.

The GVR Film City is anticipated to have a significant economic influence, creating more than 5,000 direct employment opportunities for local talent, technicians, and film professionals.

This huge employment prospect will benefit Assam's economy immensely, leading to the growth of allied industries like tourism, hospitality, and entertainment. The ambitious venture is expected to be completed in two years, making Assam a prominent film production destination quickly.

With state-of-the-art infrastructure and international-standard facilities, the film city will offer incomparable facilities to filmmakers. With a mix of latest technology and creative narration, it will not only upgrade Assamese cinema but also welcome international productions, bolstering Assam's position on the international cinematic map.

GVR Film City's Managing Director highlighted the project's potential to transform the film production industry, saying, "We are going to revolutionize the film production industry by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI)."
