Assan: NF Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava reviews on-going projects

TINSUKIA: NF Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava after arriving in New Tinsukia on Monday inspected the waiting room of railway drivers, guards and New Tinsukia Railway station. Later Srivastava reviewed the on-going projects as directed by Railway Board with the officials of Tinsukia Railway Division.

The NFR Mazdoor Union, the only strong union of railway workers while welcoming the newly-appointed General Manager Srivastava handed over a memorandum containing various demands to the GM who later had a cordial discussion with central assistant secretary Pulak Gogoi and divisional coordinator Paresh Hazarika of NFRMU. The Union also deeply regretted the apathetic attitude of the railways to restore historic Dibru-Sadiya Railways which was established in 1881 by John Barry White. The memorandum further stated that the persistent demands to renovate and to declare Dangori as terminal station having vast tourism potentials of the region including Arunachal Pradesh had been ignored by the NFR General Managers and the railway department even as a survey work was carried out long back without any fruitful outcome, the release stated.
