Awareness Campaign for security to working journalists of Assam

LAKHIMPUR: Journalist of Biswanath district, Snehankar Chakraborty has undertaken a unique venture to travel almost 1,000 kilometre covering North and Upper Assam by riding a bicycle in order to create awareness for the security of the working journalists of the State. He started the venture on Tuesday from Biswanath Chariali. He has already attempted to arrive in Sadiya via Bogibeel bridge and then he will come back to his native district via Kalia Bhomora bridge travelling through Sivasagar, Jorhat and other districts of Upper Assam.
On Wednesday, Snehankar Chakraborty arrived at North Lakhimpur Press Club wherein he was given a warm welcome and felicitation. In addition to the press club, the Lakhimpur district units of All Assam Students' Union, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad, Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti and other organizations also feted the journalist. Former MLA of Lakhimpur LAC, Ghana Burhagohain also feted Chakraborty on the way appreciating his unique attempt taken for the interest of the journalist fraternity.
