Awareness campaign on organ donation

A couple, Bhal Shekhar Chilana and Namita Dutta, from Rotary club Navi Mumbai Sunrise, who were travelling across India with an organ donation awareness campaign, reached Bongaigaon on Monday.

BONGAIGAON: A couple, Bhal Shekhar Chilana and Namita Dutta, from Rotary club Navi Mumbai Sunrise, who were travelling across India with an organ donation awareness campaign, reached Bongaigaon on Monday. Already they had travelled for 131 days visiting 131 cities, 28 states and 8 UTs and aiming for 80,000 pledges for organ donation.

As stated by Pradip Sen, secretary of Bongaigaon Rotary Club, the visiting couple have given details of their campaign to the members of Rotary club Bongaigaon and Lions club Bongaigaon . "Rotarian Bhal Shekhar Chilana inspired the members through his journey and explained the need and importance of organ donation. Namita Dutta insisted for the involvement of family for this noble cause," Sen mentioned.

Apu Guha Thakuria, president-elect of Rotary club Bongaigaon and Vikas Tuwani, member of District Cabinet of Lions club appreciated the efforts of the couple for spreading a ray of hope across India. Members including Syam Sundar Agarwala, president of Lions Club, Vikash Tuwani, member of District Cabinet, Lions Club, Sujit Agarwala, Zone President of Lions Club along with all other members from both clubs assured for their whole-hearted support in their mission.
