Awareness on ‘Millet for School Children of Assam’ held among students

DHUBRI: Dhubri District Agriculture Office organized an awareness meeting under Assam Millet Mission on ‘Millet for School Children of Assam’ at 23 No. Chirakowa Part VI LP School under Simlitola Agricultural Development Circle on Thursday.

The awareness meeting was held to celebrate the International Year of Millet to create awareness among the students about the types of millet, food properties of millet and benefits of millet. The awareness meeting was conducted by Dhubri District Nodal Officer- Assam Millet Mission, Pankaj Chandra Das. More than 50 students and teachers expressed their interest in consuming millet as food. The awareness meeting was attended by Assistant Agricultural Inspector, Anarul Hoque Mandal, Assistant Agricultural Inspector, Amanur Rahman, District Environment Coordinator, Dr Joydeep Shill, School Principal, Abdul Maleque Mandal and officers and employees concerned.
