Awareness Programme on Electors Verification Programme held in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: With a view to create awareness among the young voters, awareness programme about the ongoing Electors Verification Programme (EVP) and demonstration of voters’ verification processes are being carried out in different colleges of Sivasagar election district under the banner of Electoral Literacy Clubs of the colleges.

According to sources of the Sivasagar Election Office, as many as 10 such clubs with a nodal teacher have been formed in the district recently. The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is a platform to engage students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting.
