Baksa DTO launches operation against vehicles at Matanga Chowk

BAKSA: The Transport Department of Baksa district launched an operation on Friday at Matanga Chowk of Tamulpur subdivision town on 127(D) Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan International Link Road against vehicles that violated traffic rules.

The operation was launched after the order of DTO Baksa, Sonit Kumar Bora, under the leadership of Enforcement Inspector Satyanath Boro of Baksa district and in association with Enforcement Checker Twinkle Pathak, Chandan Brahma.and Ranjit Daimary. A sum of Rs 5,000 was collected as fine during the operation from the vehicles which had violated traffic rules.

DTO Bora said, "The vehicles which have been fined have not provided proper documents like driving license and insurance, Two-wheeler drivers without helmet have been fined." DTO Bora further added, "The transport department of Baksa district earlier conducted many awareness programmes at Tamulpur under Road Safety Week and instructed all the people to obey traffic rules. But owners and drivers violated the rules for which fines have been imposed under the MV Act."

He futher said, "We have launched the operation for the safety of the people and strict action will be taken against those who do not obey the MVI Act." On January 7, the Transport Department launched operation against vehicles in Goreswar area and collect almost a sum of Rs.50,000 as fine from vehicles without proper documents and for violating traffic rules.
