BCPL organizes plastic manufacturers' meet in Guwahati

DIBRUGARH: Brahmaputra Crackers & Polymer Limited (BCPL) organized a downstream plastic manufacturers' meet in the presence of Pollution Control Board, Assam and GAIL (India) Ltd in Guwahati on Wednesday.

The main aim of the meet was to clarify different issues arising from Single Use Plastic (SUP) and plastic waste management as per the Plastic waste Management Rule 2016; and to address the problems faced by the plastic manufacturers in this regard. Various issues related to SUPs that required clarity were taken up by different stakeholders in that forum, which were well addressed by officials of PCB Assam. Chairman of PCB Assam, Dr Arup Kumar Misra, member secretary Dr Shantanu Dutta, Managing Director of BCPL, Reep Hazarika and other senior officials from both BCPL and GAIL (India) Ltd. attended the meeting.
