'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign launched in Kokrajhar
The ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign was launched in Kokrajhar on Thursday.
KOKRAJHAR: The 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign was launched in Kokrajhar on Thursday. Organized by the Women and Child Development department, Kokrajhar and District Hub for Empowerment of Women, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Subhram Aditya Bora, officials from Line departments, Health, Labour and Child Welfare Committee.
The main aim of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign is to check dropout rate among girls at secondary and higher secondary levels and raising awareness about safe Menstrual Hygiene Management.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Subhram Aditya Bora also administered a pledge to the District and Sectoral officers for promotion of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' as a part of ongoing week-long National Girl Child week under the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign. The ADC also launched a signature campaign to strengthen the BBBP campaign across the district.
Highlighting the importance of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign, the Bora asked the participants to encourage the people to educate girl children, care for their good health and ensure social and economic uplift of women.
The scheme is being operated/ implemented as a component of the Sambal sub-scheme of Mission Shakti. At District level, the Mission Shakti dedicated PMU, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) with financial assistance from MWCD will provide technical/manpower support to State/ District Beti Bachao Beti Padhao machinery.
