Bharat Bandh evokes total response in Demow & Jamugurihat

DEMOW: The Bharat Bandh which was called by various farmers' unions in protest against the Centre's 'anti-farmer' policies, evoked total response in Demow on Tuesday. All shops remained closed and buses did not ply on the road. Normal life was paralyzed in Demow. The bandh passed off peacefully without any untoward incident.

JAMUGURIHAT: The Bharat bandh called by farmers' organizations hit normal life in Jamugurihat on Tuesday. The Naduar Block Congress Committee, in collaboration with Naduar Mandal Congress Committee, burnt down the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi near the paddy field of Jiya Bharali River here. All the business establishments of Jamugurihat were closed during the day time. Shops in Itakhola remained closed till the evening in support of the Bharat Bandh.
