DEMOW: A special organizational meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sivasagar district was organized among the BJP party workers in Jyoti Bishnu Building in 107 No Thowra Constituency on Tuesday where Pijush Hazarika, State Water Resource Minister, Jogen Mohan, State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, and Tapan Kumar Gogoi, Jorhat MP, were present.
While interacting with the media persons here on Tuesday, minister Pijush Hazarika said that as Sushanta Borgohain had joined the BJP, the party workers were gearing up for the by-election. He said that earlier in this constituency the candidate won with a margin of 1,000 to 1,500 votes. But this time their target was 20,000 votes and as Sushanta Borgohain and Kushal Dowari were both together this time, he said that the BJP candidate would win with a margin of 15,000- 20,000 votes in Thowra constituency.
Taranga Gogoi, Naharkatia MLA, Sushanta Borgohain, Kushal Dowari, both former MLAs of Thowra constituency, along with other BJP leaders and BJP workers were present in the special organization meeting of the party.
