Bholanath College week held amidst fanfare in Dhubri

DHUBRI: The annual college week of Dhubri Bholanath College concluded with prize distribution ceremony attended by an eminent scientist and alumni, Dr. Sanat Kumar Saha as the chief guest on Thursday.

A series of sports and cultural programmes were held during the Bholanath College week from February 2 to February 6. Dr. Saha, while addressing the prize distribution ceremonial function, emphasized environmental issues and requested all to be awake and alert.

“It will be very late if we don’t take the environment-related issues seriously because a huge damage has already been done in the name of development and modernization. So all of us should be extra alert and take scientific approach to address the environmental issues,” Dr. Saha said.

The Principal of the college, Dhruba Chakrabortty said that as a part of Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat programme of the Government of India as well as the State Government, all students and teachers, including the guests, took Swacchta Pledge in Assamese and Rajasthani language, which is the language of the paired State, Rajasthan under EBSB programme.
