
GUWAHATI: The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, which aims to make Assam a top place for investment and innovation, took an important step today with the Bhumi Pujan ceremony at the Assam Veterinary Science College field in Khanapara. The summit will take place on February 25-26, 2025, and its goal is to turn Assam into one of India's leading investment destinations, with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.
The ceremony was led by Assam's Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprise, Bimal Borah. He performed the rituals and placed the "Lai Khuta" to wish the event success. Borah prayed for the summit's success and for Assam to continue growing as a business and innovation hub.
The summit’s primary objective is to attract global investors to Assam. Borah announced that the summit would feature 16 sessions, with eight sectoral and eight thematic discussions. The event will be supported by five partner countries: Bhutan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the European Union. About 300 industry leaders from around the world are expected to attend, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to open the summit.
The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Assam Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, MD of AIDC Manvendra Pratap Singh, and Commissioner of Industries Oinam Saran Kumar Singh.
