JAMUGURIHAT: Music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika was remembered throughout the State by various organizations on his 10th death anniversary on Friday. The regional committee of Natun Sahitya Parishad, Jamugurihat in collaboration with Sudarshan Sanskritik Kendra had observed the day with a daylong programme held at Bapuji Bhawan here. Drawing and Bhupendra Sangeet competitions were organized for children in the morning. The main session began with a chorus followed by floral tribute. Dharmeswar Hazarika, an eminent educationist of the area graced the memorial meeting as a chief guest who highlighted the life, philosophy and ideology of the Bharat Ratna Dr. Hazarika. All the proceedings of the meeting were carried out by Satya Bora while Manoj Bhuyan offered the vote of thanks.

DOOMDOOMA: The death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sudhakantha Dr Bhupen Hazarika was observed by Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) on Friday. The programme began with lighting of the lamp in front of his portrait by Tinsukia Zila Xahity Xabha president Journalist Arjun Baruah. DSXX president Bimal Baruah offered floral tributes to him. Thereafter Anamika Lahkar, Oli Barman, Jyotisman Das and Niranjan Handique presented Bhupendra Sangeet while Jay Surya Bora and Jonali Deka recited self-composed poems. The programme came to an end with the singing of Manuhe manuhor babe by all those present there.

The death anniversary was also observed by Barhapjan Sakha Xahity Xabha (BSXX), near here, with offering of floral tributes in front of his portrait. President Chavan Dhekial Phulan and secretary Baputi Handique spoke briefly about him while Malina Begum, Miyam Saikia and Rupa Hazarika recited poems. After presentation of a Bhupendra Sangeet by Kaberi Barpatra Gohain, the programme came to an end with the singing of Axam Sangeet Oh mor aponar desh.
