JAMUGURIHAT: The second biennial conference of Biswanath Town committee of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) concluded on Sunday with a daylong programme with Dr. Bhakta Prasad Goutam in the chair. The daylong programme held at Biswanath Jnan Bharati School began with hoisting of the institutional flag followed by a chorus. Purna Kumar Sarma, an eminent dramatist, unveiled the mouthpiece of the literary body. Anjan Baskota, Sahitya Akademi's Yuva Puraskar awardee graced the occasion as a distinguished guest and appealed the writers to write on serious and value-added demanding things that may bring a social change. The open session was also addressed by prof. Hem Kumar Goutam, senior writer Tikaram Nirveek, Loknath Shastry, Bishnu Devi among others.

All the proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Prem Biswakarma, secretary of the literary body. In between the session Arjun Nirola, Binita Devi Gajurel, Krishna Neel Karki read out their self-composed poems while Kewal Ram Sonari and Chitra Powdel sang a song each. Twenty five life members of ANSS were felicitated in the meeting. Child artistes Nishita and Nibedita had performed folk dances. The meeting was also attended by Rajen Sarma, principal of Chatia HSS, Kiran Bala Devi, Principal of Biswanath Jnan Bharati School, Bedadip Goutam, senior journalist among others.
