Bijoya Sanmilani held, students felicitated in Dhubri
Bijoya Sanmilani was held under the auspices of Dhubri branch of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sanmilan (NBBSS) at its auditorium here recently.

DHUBRI: Bijoya Sanmilani was held under the auspices of Dhubri branch of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sanmilan (NBBSS) at its auditorium here recently. As a part of the programme, students of HSLC and HS who obtained letter marks in Bengali in the examination held in 2020, were felicitated and awarded with Bengali-English dictionary and a citation.
Speaking in the meeting Bijoya Sanmilani, president of Dhubri branch of NBBSS, Prof (Rtd), Debasish Bhattacharjee expressed deep pain to see the degradation of Bengali language in recent years as percentage of studying in Bengali medium school was fast declining by each passing year.
"I appeal all the guardians to ensure that their sons and daughters take Bengali as their MIL whatever the medium he or she studies and inspire them to learn world's one of the sweet language," Bhattacharjee said.
Cultural secretary of the branch, Sushanta Kar presented the year long cultural activities and programme organised by the branch and narrated the tragic story to the budding generation about the world's youngest and first martyr, Kamala Bhattacharjee, who sacrificed her life for Bengali language. A lively cultural programme was held amid song, drama and dance staged by the local upcoming artistes of the town.
