Bike rally organized on Tinsukia District Day by district administration

DOOMDOOMA: In keeping with the three-day long celebration of Tinsukia District Day (TDD) beginning from September 29, a bike rally was organized as a part of the second day programme on Friday by the district administration, from Doomdooma Revenue Circle office to the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Dhola- Sadiya bridge.

The bike rally was flagged off jointly by MLA Rupresh Gowala and Deputy Commissioner Narasing Power. The programme was also attended by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Nayan Jyoti Bhagawati, ADC Sushanta Dutta and Dipu Deka, besides SDO (Civil), Sadiya subdivision Anupam Deka, other officials, Doomdooma Municipal Board officials, student and teachers of Doomdooma College and Bir Raghav Moran Government Model College.

MLA Rupresh Gowala and DC Narsingh Power, while conveying their best wishes for celebration of the 33rd TDD, sought the cooperation of people for its successful completion. On the other hand, under the auspices of Tinsukia District Sports Department, a friendly cricket match was organized between Tinsukia DC XI and Tinsukia Bar Association XI at Industrial Training Institute playground on Friday. The friendly match was inaugurated by DDC NJ Bhagawati. The DC XI won the match by defeating the Bar Association XI by eight wickets.

An educational tour was also organized on the occasion on Friday for the school students. They were taken to the Digboi centenary museum and Margherita coal museum.
