Birth anniversary celebration of Bir Lachit Borphukan gets underway in Nagaon
Along with the rest of the State, the district administration as well as district police administration celebrated the 400 birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Borphukan with a week-long programme here at Nagaon

NAGAON: Along with the rest of the State, the district administration as well as district police administration celebrated the 400 birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Borphukan with a week-long programme here at Nagaon since Friday.
As part of the celebration, district police administration, in association with 9th Assam Police Battalion, Barhampur took out a march past throughout the small town on Friday. The march past rally started from Nagaon police reserve playground and traversed throughout the main road in the town.
Meanwhile, as part of celebration, a sand art exhibition was opened for general public of the district at Nagaon Nehrubali field by the district administration and also the video of the district theme song on Bir Lachit Borphukan's 400 birth anniversary was ceremonially released by Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon, Narendra Kr Shah.
The lyric as well as tune of the theme song have been composed by singer-cum-musician Kanu Kandoli while the music of the song has been arranged by instrumentalist Pranjal Borah. Superintendent of Police, Leena Doley, Additional Deputy Commissioner Deemple Boruah and other senior officials of the district administration as well as police were present in the programme.
Apart from this, traditional games like 'Tekeli Bhanga' competition were also organized among the officials of district and police administration at Nagaon Nehrubali field.
