Biswanath district committee of Garia Moria Deshi Jatiya Parishad stages protest

Jamugurihat: The Biswanath district committee of Garia Moria Deshi Jatiya Parishad took out a protest in the form of human chain on NH-15 at Sootea centre on Monday.

More than 100 members of the organization staged a protest for an hour on the road. Moinul Islam, the general secretary of the State committee, while addressing media persons, stated that the State Government had not fulfilled their demands despite reminders time and again. The BJP-led State Government had promised to address various issues of the community in the election manifesto. He further added that the State Government had allowed a handsome budget for carrying out census of the community in its last budget session. He alleged that till date the census had not been carried out. He appealed to the State Government to carry out a neutral census of the community and provide all sorts of support for the development of the community immediately.
