TEZPUR: The Saffron party, BJP has won all the five Assembly constituency seats in Sonitpur district. According to the official declaration after the counting process was over here it was informed that in 71 No. Dhekiajuli LAC, the BJP candidate Ashok Singhal defeated his nearest rival Congress candidate Benudhar Nath by a margin of 35,070 votes. While Ashok Singhal secured 93,768 votes, Benudhar Nath secured 58,698 votes.

In 72 Borchachala LAC, Ganesh Kumar Limbu defeated Ex-MP of Tezpur LAC, Ram Prasad Sarmah by a margin of 17,782. Ganesh Limbu got 70,569 votes and Ram Prasad Sarmah got 52,787 votes. In 73 Tezpur LAC, the BJP-AGP alliance candidate of the prestigious Assembly seat Prithiraj Rabha defeated the Congress projected candidate Dr Anju Kumar Mech by a margin of 10,123 votes. Prithviraj Rabha got 71,454 votes while Dr Anuj Kumar Mech got 61,331 votes.

In 74 Rangaapra LAC, BJP candidate Krishna Kamal Tanti has won by a margin of 22,345 against Congress candidate Abhijit Hazarika. Krishna Kamal Tanti got 70,172 votes and Abhijit Hazarika got 47,827 votes. Likewise in 75 Sootia LAC, the BJP projected candidate Padma Hazarika to win the seat by a margin of 24,375 votes defeating his nearest rival Praneswar Basumatary who contested from a Congress card. Padma Hazarika got 84,807 and Praneswar Basumatary got 60,432.
