BJP candidate Rupsing Teron wins Baithalangso

DONGKAMUKAM: Rupsing Teron, BJP nominated candidate from 20th Baithalangso LAC defeated his nearest rival candidate of Congress, Augustine Enghee by a huge margin of 52,929 votes. The BJP polled 88,727 votes whereas Congress could manage 35,798 votes.

He became the 2nd legislator of the BJP after Dr Mansing Rongpi who was elected in bye-election some four and half years ago on BJP candidate after merging to Saffron party from the Congress.

In counting from the word go, the candidate leads from the first round without any interruption till the last round of counting.

"His lead from the very first round till the last one is because of the presence of political stalwarts in West Karbi Anglong," one of his supporters said.

One of his friends said that the huge margin is due to CEM and MPs presence from West Karbi Anglong.
