KOKRAJHAR: A nine-member delegation of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) and United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO), led by Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BKWAC, Mihiniswar Basumatary, on Monday left for New Delhi to meet Union Ministers to put pressure on them for development and smooth sailing of the new council.

Talking to this correspondent from New Delhi, Executive Member (EM) of BKWAC, Anil Basumatary said that the nine-member delegation had left for the national capital with the important agenda to pursue Union Ministers for bringing fast development and smooth sailing of new council. He said there was a lot of ground work to be done for strong foundation of the new council for Boro Kachari people living outside BTR and the ruling party must carry forward the commitment made during the last election. He also said that the developmental activities of the council were yet to get pick up due to want of fund while preparation for official establishment and constituting of new constituencies in the council area were going on.

Bssumatary said that the delegation would meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, Waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale and Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, MoS and Ministry of Labour and Employment, Rameswar Teli.

The delegation team also comprised of chairman of BKWAC Gambaru Mashahary, president of UBPO, Manuranjan Bssumatary, deputy CEM of BKWAC, Romeo P. Narzary and four other members of the UBPO.
