KOKRAJHAR: The Executive Member (EM) of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) Anil Basumatary on Tuesday hit back at Gambaru Muchahary, sacked chairman of BKWAC for his derogatory remarks against the Chief Executive Member (CEM) Mihiniswar Basumatary in some news portal on Monday.
Talking to this correspondent from Chennai, Basumatary said the allegations levelled against CEM of BKWAC Mihiniswar Basumatary by Gambaru Muchahary was totally baseless, politically motivated and misleading. He said Muchahary tried to malign the clean image of CEM Mihiniswar Basumatary for fulfilling his hidden political interest in front of the public.
Basumatary said the State Government had removed Gambaru Muchahary from the post of Chairman of BKWAC by a notification of the State Government issued on January 4, 2023 after getting over Executive Council meeting of BKWAC. He clarified that all actions and developmental schemes taken up by the council in last two financial years- 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 in the Boro Kachari inhabitant villages were as per resolutions or minutes of the Executive Council meeting of BKWAC but not as he stated by Muchahary in the press meet. He also said the Head Office and Sub Office of the BKAC had been clearly mentioned in the State government notification which stated that Guwahati will be H.O. of BKWAC and the Sanjari Nwgwr, Simen Chapori of Dhemaji district will be as its Sub-Office but not as claimed by Gambaru Muchahary. He further said Gambaru Muchahary was dethroned from the post of Chairman of BKWAC as per decision taken in the Executive Council meeting as he had violated the power and functions of the Chairman of BKWAC Act, 2020 repeatedly besides involving in anti-council activities that maligned the image and lowering the dignity of the council.
EM of BKWAC expressed full confidence on existing CEM Mihiniswar Basumatary led council governance. He said ex-Chairman Gambaru Muchahary criticized Mihiniswar Basumatary out of frustration. Basumatary said ex- Chairman Gambaru Muchahary even alleged that the United Bodo People’s Organisation (UBPO) was a rubber stamp organization of BKWAC. He said the allegations of Muchahary was unfortunate as people of BKWAC know it very well that the UBPO had been keeping strict vigilance on the administration of BKWAC and as a signatory organization of Bodo Peace Accord or BTR Accord, the UBPO had been raising voice to implement all clauses of the BTR Accord in letters and spirit.
EM Basumatary appealed to the ex. Chairman of BKWAC Gambaru Muchahary and his followers not to utter such words and baseless criticism on Mihiniswar Basumatary, CEM in near future. He also appealed to work for all-round growth and development of the Bodo people in particular and the people of Assam in general in the days to come.
