The Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church observes 33rd Church Foundation Day

KOKRAJHAR: The Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church (KTBC) celebrated its 33rd Church Foundation Day-cum- seminar on Christian marriage with a day- long colourful programme here at KTBC, Kadamtola in Kokrajhar on Saturday. The programme, organized on the occasion was attended by hundred of church believers from different family members.

The Church Foundation Day programme started with the hoisting of Church flag by the Nijwm Khungur Narzary, pastor of KTBC followed by prayers of Church leader.

Talking to reporters, Arun Basumatary, senior leader and former Deacon of Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church said that said, “Today we have celebrated its 33rd Church Foundation day in our Church along with seminar topic on Christian marriage and ideal Christian home.

He said that a small group of believers started Sunday worship service and fellowship at Lower Assam Baptist Union (LABU) campus in Kokrajhar.

Basumatary said that they were coming from different districts as their job work place in Kokrajhar including government employees, banks employees, private employees, businessmen in Kokrajhar has become hub of business place day by day. He said, gradually the number of Christian congregations have been increasing in Kokrajhar beacuse many people came for their posting of job in different offices in Kokrajhar. He also added thst on May 27, 1990, Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church was established in Kokrajhar town.

Reorea Narzihary EM , BTR and senior believer of Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church said that over 100 members were present Kokrajhar KTBC Church congregations.

He said they had a guest speaker Micheal Baglari, Principal of G.R. Kampfer English School Barigaon Baptist Church , Udalguri district in the celebration in 33rd Church Foundation Day.

Narzihary, the guest speaker from Udalguri spoke about, Christian Marriage and Ideal Christian Home, fostering to become good example in the society. He also said that as per programme the praising worship by youths of KTBC, songs, prayers, Bodo traditional Christian gospel dance of parents group and women groups were performed in the celebration among the congregation.
