MANGALDAI: Along with the three other blood banks of the States, a Blood Component Separation Unit (BCSU) was also ceremonially installed in the district level blood bank at Mangaldai Civil Hospital. To mark the occasion, a public function was organized by the district health department here on Saturday where Mangaldai Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia as the chief guest formally inaugurated the scheme. Addressing the function, Parliamentarian Saikia stressed the need of carrying forward the government health services among the masses through a comprehensive publicity mechanism.

Meanwhile, MP Saikia expressed his happiness over the recent voluntary blood donation scenario in the district which has recorded over 500 units in August. Former Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das, Joint Director of Health Dr Harpal Singh Suri, Superintendent of Mangaldai Civil Hospital Dr Gopinath Bora and Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr N. K. Beria were also present on the occasion.
