MANGALDAI: As the second wave of Covid 19 has taken a serious turn once again posing a major threat to human lives, the members of 'Unity- We the Blood Donors'- the only organization of the blood donors of the State- on Thursday distributed three layer masks and hand sanitizers to the inmates of Mangaldai District Jail.

Office bearers of the organization and active voluntary blood donors Shekhar Mazumdar, Ratul Deka, Dhruba Jyoti Bora and Nitya Nanda Goswami, accompanied by senior media persons Hemanta Kumar Baruah, Ganesh Dutta and Bhargab Kumar Das, on Thursday afternoon met the Superintendent of District Jail, Ranjit Burhagohain and Jailer Prasanta Rajbongshi at their office and handed over the masks and hand sanitizers. Convict inmate Arup Kumar Deka and Illias Purty were also offered the masks and hand sanitizers.

Both the Superintendent Ranjit Burhagohain and Jailer Prasanta Rajbongshi highly appreciated the initiative of the members of 'Unity- We the Blood Donors' in providing the items to the inmates of the jail in this hour of crisis.
