Our Correspondent

KOKRAJHAR: Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) on Thursday observed that the rule of the retirement of the government had certain loopholes. The president of the BJSM, Janaklal Basumatary said that change of retirement rule of civil services was unconstitutional and unacceptable. He said the recent change of retirement rule by the Central Government on the basis of length of service was unconstitutional and in violation of Articles 15 and 16 of the Constitution of India. He said if retirement period was limited to 33 years of length of service, the person who joined service at 27 years of age would retire at the age of 60 but a person joining service at the age of 22 years will retire at the age of 55 years. So he/she would lose five years of opportunity to work and earn.
