GUWAHATI: In a bizarre incident a floating body of a 10-year old child who was missing since last Monday, was recovered on Tuesday in a water tank of the government water supplying office.

The incident reported in Juria of Assam's Nagaon district on Tuesday.

Sources from police informed that the deceased child was missing since Monday and the locals today recovered his floating body from a water tank of government water supplying office.

The police said that after the locals recovered the body, they have found the mouth of the child was closed with black tape and suspected that the boy has been a victim of human sacrifice.

Soon after the body was found the angry people stormed into the government office and tried to vandalize it by pelting stones at the office. The locals have alleged that someone from the office staff committed the crime.

However, police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. The body has been sent to hospital for post mortem and police started an investigation into the case.

In what may be described as a "shocking" incident, six minor girls in Madhya Pradesh were stripped and then paraded naked as part of a ritual in a village so that rainfall happens in that village. As per reports, the incident took place in a village in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh state. The village has suffering because of drought for many months. Videos have surfaced on social media showing young girls walking naked in nude condition with a wooden shaft on their shoulders that had a frog tied to it.

As per the local residents, the ritual appeases the rain Gods and result in rainfall in the region. India's National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has asked for a report from the administration of Damoh district, where the village is located. The Madhya Pradesh police said there has not been any formal complaint registered in connection with the incident, but they have initiated a probe.

Damoh superintendent of police DR Teniwar told a news agency that stern action would be taken if it is found after an interrogation that the girls were forced to parade in nude condition.
