JAMUGURIHAT: The body of one Chitra Bahadur Powdel, a resident of Ghiladharimukh under Sootea Police Station who went missing on December 15 was recovered on Wednesday. He was 52. In this regard, the family members had lodged an FIR at Sootea police station. According to information, a woman who was working in her paddy field spotted the body hanging from a tree near the irrigation project site on the southern part of Sootea. Later on, a police team headed by Iswar Sing, Circle Inspector of Sootea Police Station reached the site and the body was recovered in presence of executive magistrate Mantush Kumar Chakraborty. The body was sent for postmortem. The unusual and untimely death of Chitra Bahadur was widely mourned.
