Book "Bikrambir Thapa, mera Akhijhyalbata" released at Tezpur

JAMUGURIHAT: "Bikrambir Thapa, mera Akhijhyalbata" -- an anthology of the life of Bikrambir Thapa, a Sahitya Akademi award winning writer was released in function held at the 'Asamiya Club, Tezpur' on Sunday.

The meeting held on the occasion – by observing the Covid-19 protocols -- was chaired by prominent critic Gyan Bahadur Chetry.

The book in Nepali has been penned by Bishal KC -- an emerging poet from Balijuri, Jamugurihat . It was released by well-known critic and poet Chatraman Subba. After the release of this book, poets Mohan Subedi, Bishnu Shastry, Kamal Sedai, Sunil Chetry, Rita Singh addressed the gathering.

The book release function was organized by the 'Devanagari Sahitya Prakashan.

Poet Bishal KC extended the welcome address; and it was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial light by Kanchan Chetry, chairperson of the Prakashan.

The meeting also feted Anjan Baskota – winner of Sahitya Akademi's young writer's award. Anjan Anjan Baskota was felicitated with a citation, gamosa, a packet of books and cash. Dakhina Devi Gajurel, central executive member of the 'Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha' was the coordinator during the meeting. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Nara Bahadur Darjee, Naba Prabha Adhikari, Ganesh Poudel, Madhab Bhattarai, Kharga Bahadur Koushik, and Sagar Sapkota.
