Book festival underway at Biswanath College under AASU unit

Biswanath Chariali: A book festival got underway at Biswanath College on Tuesday under the aegis of the students' union of the college in association with the AASU unit.

As many as seven books were released on the occasion that included Jivan Jujar Nagpash, Anami Anurag, Ranga Belitir Sandhanat, Tomar Premiere Mok Eral Nidiba, Tomak Log Powar pachat, Samay Aru Rajniti and An Introduction to Career and Counseling. The festival commenced with the lighting of the earthen lamp by Dr Chintamani Sharma, Principal of Biswanath College. The exchange of books among the students was also held as a part of the festival.

A memoir Sapon Khedi Phura Manuhjon was released on Wednesday at Bhaskar Jyoti Vidyapith, Chatiya in the fond memory of the school's founder Headmaster and social worker, Dwipen Saikia on the occasion of his first death anniversary. Litterateur Prem Narayan Goswami released the memoir while a good number of dignitaries were present in the program chaired by Dulu Gogoi, former Principal of Nag Shanker Higher Secondary School.
