LAKHIMPUR: Jana Sevak Keshab Chandra Bhuyan, a book on social activist Keshab Chandra Bhuyan, was released on Wednesday on the occasion of his first death anniversary.
Notably, Keshab Chandra Bhuyan, the popular social activist, breathed his last at Soumarpeeth Hospital on February 9 in 2021 due to cardiac arrest. He was a permanent resident of Ward No. 11 of North Lakhimpur town.
On the occasion of the release of the book, a programme was organized at his residence under the management of Dr. Premananda Howborah and Dr. Bonti Howborah in the presence of a galaxy of prominent figures of Lakhimpur. The programme began with the lighting of earthen lamp by academician and writer Dr. Mukunda Rajbonshi in front of the portrait of the social activist. The programme was inaugurated by a song presented by vocal artiste Pratap Sarmah.
The book was released by social activist, writer Golok Chandra Hazarika. Retired Principal of Dhemaji College, Puspa Nath Borah graced the occasion as guest of honour who delivered a lecture on the life and works of Keshab Chandra Bhuyan commemorating his contribution to Lakhimpur.
