GUWAHATI : The book on life and work of Dr. Himadri Kumar Das, a retired Professor of Guwahati University was released at an event on Saturday 19th November 2022. The title of the book is Abhinandan Grantha.

It was release by the well known and renowned geo scientist professor Dulal Chandra Goswami. Abhinandan Grantha was published as a part of 83rd birthday celebration of Dr. Himadri Kumar Das.

Dr. Nripendra Nath is the editor of the book and he describes the life of Himadri Kumar as a professor at Guwahati University. Students, colleagues, well wishers and family members of Dr. Das has also contributed their thoughts as articles in the Abhinandan Grantha. The welcome speech of the event was given by Dr. Dipanka Saikia, presided over by Dr. Krishna Gopal Bhattacharya, a retired professor at Guwahati University.

The event was graced by Prof. Amalendu Chakraborty, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore university. He also talked about his experience with Dr. Himadri Kumar Das.

Dr. Das's family members were also present in the occasion, including wife Sumitra Das, daughter Dr. Madhushree Das and son Hirokendu Das. Students of Dr. Das were invited in the event where they shared their experiences with him as a professor. They all expressed their gratitude towards him for his fantastic teaching skills and his love and kindness for all. Professor Das got emotional during the event as it was a overwhelming surprise for him. The book is also available on online sites like Amazon for people interested to know about Dr. Das's professional as well as personal life.

On April this year, Horen Das a prominent assamese writer released a book titles 'Jibonor Sa-Puhor'. The book is based on Horen Das's struggle and true incidence from his life. Notably, Das used to write a column called 'Jobonor Sa-Puhor' which used to be published every 15 days in the Assamese daily newspaper 'Amar Asom'.
