Border Outreach Programme kicks off at Bir Lachit Stadium, Sadiya

TINSUKIA: Symbolizing a goodwill mission between the two neighbouring states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the two-day Border Outreach Programme was kicked off at Bir Lachit Stadium in Chapakhowa Sadiya on Tuesday with the release of colourful balloons jointly by Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Bhaskar Pegu and ADC Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh, T Partin, in presence of Bolin Chetia, MLA of Sadiya, senior officials and a large number guests and sports participants.

After the formal inaugural programme which was attended by Banwar Lal Meena, Sadiya Superintendent of Police, Major Magaram Dodra of Madras Regiment, Jantira Maunglang, secretary of Namsai district Olympic Committee, Jugawala Buragohain, Commissioner of Pranam Auyog, and Biswajit Phukan, SDO (Civil) Sadiya, an art and craft exhibition stall was inaugurated at the venue. A volleyball (girls) game followed by a football (U-19 boys) match was played between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
