BPF leader Santosh Narzary passes away in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Secretary of Deborgaon Block BPF, Santosh Narzary passed away on Sunday night at his Debargaon residence after a prolonged illness. Narzary was 48. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son. Narzary was the president of the North Kokrajhar Anchalik committee, ABSU in 1995. He also served as secretary of Anchalik ABSU before becoming president for long. He was also associated with the Volunteer Force (VF) of the ABSU and was one of the members who laid down arms in a surrender ceremony after the first Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC) was signed between the Government of India, Government of Assam and the ABSU in 1993. Later, he joined the BPF and subsequently became the president of Debargaon Block BPF till the formation of the new body of the block committee in 2019. He was replaced because of his poor health condition.
