BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary unfurls Tricolour in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Independence Day was celebrated by Kokrajhar district administration at Kokrajhar HS & MP School playground with patriotic fervour. Chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary hoisted the tricolour after inspecting the guard of honour. He also paid glowing tribute to the martyrs at the martyrs’ tomb. Addressing the gathering, Mohilary said the country got freedom due to sacrifices made by the martyrs led by father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He recalled the freedom movement led by Gandhi.

Mohilary thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for revoking article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and hailed the creation of two Union Territories bifurcating J&K. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir will see the pace of development and entire citizens of India have got freedom of equality in that state. He said his council was working for speedy development in BTC region where things have changed in all spheres. He said a stable political party was needed to implement all important projects and to bring massive economic development. The BPF has brought lot of development in BTC which was lagging in all spheres, adding that the BPF became one of the most trusted regional political parties.

Mohilary said peace was most essential to carry out developmental works. He claimed that since 2014 there had been no violence in BTC. The region becomes peaceful, adding that his council will be able to bring more development if people maintain peace and communal harmony. He also elaborated the developmental activities in the council.
