BTC chief Pramod Boro distributes ambulances to rural health centres in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro on Thursday formally distributed ambulances to the rural health centres of BTC region during a programme which was organized by the department of Health and Family Welfare, BTC, at the CHD office in Kokrajhar. As many as 15 ambulances to rural health centres were distributed in presence of EM of Health and Family Welfare, EMs and local MLA.

In his speech, the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro said that his government had been taking initiative for giving better health services to the people of the region. He said they were looking at providing hassle-free health care to the people and were pursuing a reputed hospital in Chennai for major diseases like cancer and others for easy access and affordability of treatment. He also said that there were many rural health centres in BTR which lacked proper facilities for treatment and so his government had distributed the ambulances to the rural health centres.

Boro said that his government was giving priority to other departments like education and agriculture so that the people of the region could see the development. He said that there was need of more than 11,000 classrooms in educational institutions in BTR and for extension of classrooms and other facilities, they had discussed with the State Education Minister.

The EM of Health and Family Welfare, BTR, Arup Kr. Dey said that the council government led by Pramod Boro had been taking proactive measures to develop and upgrade the existing hospitals and health centres of the region. He hoped that within the next four years, the problems of the health department in BTC would be overcome.

Meanwhile, sources said as many as 15 ambulances were distributed by the chief of BTC on Thursday to rural health institutions of BTR. Kokrajhar, Baksa and Udalguri districts will get four ambulances each while Chirang district will get three ambulances.
