BAKSA: "In the first wave of COVID-19, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, doctors of the State, health workers along with COVID warriors had worked hard to serve and save the people from the pandemic. The State of Assam has successfully fought in preventing the horrors of COVID-19 in the past," said BTC chief Pramod Boro on Thursday during his visit to Nagrijuli Model Hospital.

"The State Government has already made arrangements to provide 2 crore vaccines to vaccinate all persons above 18 years. But in the meantime, everyone has to be alert during this pandemic. We all have to work together to prevent mass transmission by wearing masks, using sanitizers and by maintaining social distancing. No one should neglect this," he said.

During his visit, while appreciating the doctors and staff, he said, "The team of doctors and medical staff at Nagrijuli Model Hospital have been working hard during the period of corona. I hope that during this crisis they will continue to offer good medical care to the people of greater Nagrijuli region."

The BTC chief said that transmission of COVID-19 was still under control in BTC region. He was accompanied by his wife Parul Bharali Boro, government nominee member of BTC, Hemanta Kumar Raabha and a few UPPL party workers.

Pramod Boro's wife Parul Bharali Boro, government nominee member of BTC, Hemanta Kumar Rabha, Hemant Kumar Rabha's mother Jona Rabha as well as UPPL party activists and the BTC chief's security guard also took the COVID vaccine.

During the visit to Nagrijuli Model Hospital, the BTC chief held discussions with Deputy Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Chinmay Das, senior medical officer Dr Manohar Das and took stock of the infrastructure of Nagrijuli Model Hospital.

Meanwhile, two persons tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday after rapid test at Nagrujuli Model Hospital. They have been identified as Bhakta Sharma (30), son of Shwetnath Sharma of Baltipar village, and Naren Sonar (27), son of Bijoy Sonar from Nagriguli Tea Estate, hospital authorities said.
