Businessman Tularam Neog of Gaurisagar no more

GAURISAGAR: Prominent businessman, former secretary of Gaurisagar Bibasaye Santha (GBS) and a resident of Gaurisagar Bornaamghar Path, Tularam Neog passed away on Tuesday at a private nursing home of Dibrugarh. He was 58.

Tularam Neog was severely injured on April 1 when he was going home on his motorcycle after closing his shop. Suddenly a speeding KTM bike hit him from behind. He was immediately admitted in Sivasagar Progati Nursing Home but due to his critical condition, he was referred to a private nursing home of Dibrugarh. After five days treatment in ICU, he breathed his last on Tuesday.

His demise has been widely mourned. People from all walks of life gathered at his residence and paid homage to him. He was the proprietor of Neog Paper Agency. He was actively associated with various social and religious organizations. Before the cremation, a shraddhanjali function was held where Gaurisagar Bibasayee Santha, Gaurisagar Press Club, Sivasagar Zila and Jakaichuk Mouza Konch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, Dikhowporia Boidik Boishnav Samaj, Kawaimari GP, BJP and Congress committees of Kawaimari Mondal, Singkhap Mahila Samiti and other organizations paid floral tribute to him.

He is survived by his wife, son and a host of relatives. On the other hand, on Wednesday evening, the members of Gaurisagar Bibasayee Santha assembled at Gaurisagar Tiniali and paid rich tribute to him by lighting an earthen lamp before his portrait.
