SILCHAR: An employee of Cachar Paper Mill Nripendra Chandra Dey departed for heavenly abode on Thursday at around 4 am at Silchar Medical College followed by severe bone-related disease, as he failed to arrange the desired treatment on time due to non-payment of salary/statutory dues for 58 months. He lost the battle for his life at the age of 61. Joint Action Committee of Recognized Unions of Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills (JACRU) president Manobendra Chakraborty said, "The death toll has raised to 96 which include suicides in HPC Paper Mills of Assam."
