Campaigning for special summary revision of photo electoral rolls underway in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Chirang, Gautam Talukdar has informed that as per direction of the Election Commission of India, a special campaigning in connection with the Special Summary Revision, 2021 of photo electoral rolls for 31- Sidli (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) will be held on November 28 and November 29 and December 5 and December 6, 2020 with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date. Meanwhile, the district election authority has initiated its special campaigning throughout its lone constituency- 31 Sidli (ST) LAC, on November 28 at Basugaon, Malivita Runikhata, Amguri and Hatisar (Dadgiri), and on November 29 at Dholmara and Bengtal with the help of that areas designated AEROs, BLOs, Supervisors, NGOs and registered clubs. "The main purpose of organizing such campaigning is to provide facilities to the general public for enrolment of new voters, correction of their names and addresses, shifting of their names from one polling station to another within the LAC etc. at their doorsteps," he added.
