CEM Tuliram Ronghang lays foundation stone of project in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang laid the foundation stone for construction of a swimming pool at Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) with an estimate of Rs. 15.50 crores, here on Wednesday.

CEM while laying the foundation stone said, “Through special package of Rs. 15.50 crores (fifteen crores and fifty lakhs) from State government we are going to construct a swimming pool with the international standards here at KASA stadium. The construction will have to be completed within six months' time.”

MP Horensing Bey, Executive Members of KAAC and KASA general secretary, Pankaj Teron attended the function. The same day Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang laid the foundation stone for construction of boundary and entrance gate inside Karbi Cultural Complex at Taralangso, the permanent venue for hosting of Karbi Youth Festival, here on Wednesday in presence of MP Horensing Bey; EM of KAAC and Karbi Cultural Society, president, Chandrasing Kro.

Under special package from State government, an estimate of Rs. 10 crores has been earmarked for the construction of boundary walls and gates.

CEM said, “Under Special package, the State government has provided Rs. 10 crores for construction of boundary wall and gates here at Karbi Cultural Complex, Taralangso. The boundary wall will cover the whole complex which is 4,615.455 metres.” The CEM also inspected the ongoing construction of Nothengpi - (Karbi traditional ornaments worn by Karbi women) as the centre of attraction at Taralangso.
