Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed announces development of daily market area

Boko: Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed laid the lai khuta of the 53rd Durga Puja at Chaygaon daily market. The MLA also announced the development of the Chaygaon daily market area. As part of this, he said that under the Market Modernization and Improvement Programme (MMIP) of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART), Rs 2 crore-Rs 4 crores would be invested for modernization of the weekly market which would be financed by the World Bank.

The scheme will modernize 13 items in the market like wholesale market shades, retail market shades, small godowns, solar lighting in the market, separate toilets for men and women, market area's internal roads, drainage system, parking yard, unloading yard, pure drinking water facilities, separate fish market shade, permanent construction of grocery shops and ramp for disabled persons.
