BOKO: Chaygaon constituency MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed visited the erosion-affected areas from Achalpara village to Borakhat village under Goroimari Revenue Circle in Chaygaon Constituency. During the visits, officials of the Public Works Department and Water Resource Department were also present with the MLA.

MLA Rekibuddin said that for immediate protection of Borakhat and Achalpara villages from erosion of the mighty Brahmaputra River, a proposal of estimated amount Rs 24.15 crore had been submitted to the Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department for early implementation. He also added that for immediate protection, a proposal had also been submitted to the Asian Development Bank.

MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed said that very soon the distance between Chaygaon town to Goroimari would become shorter. A PWD road would be constructed from Gumi to Goroimari through the Brahmaputra River embankment. Seven kilometres will be constructed from Gumi to Goroimari in the first phase.
